“We are at our best when we serve others.” -Ira Byock

The First Responders Resilience Alliance (FRRA) was founded in 2024 when a retired Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer and a Charlotte-based therapist met for coffee to talk about first responder mental health in the greater Charlotte, NC community.
The alliance that formed hereafter continues to take shape today. FRRA consists of mental health practitioners and first responders who are committed to improving the mental health experience for first responders in North & South Carolina. To date, over 20 mental health and public safety organizations are represented in FRRA.
3 Pillars of FRRA:
- Improve access to mental health care for NC and SC first responders.
- Provide low-cost training to NC & SC mental health providers in first responder mental health.
- Decrease stigma among public safety personnel.
